Philip has a very special childhood bond with Beaumaris so we are delighted to welcome him ‘back to the hood’ for our May 17th event at the Beaumaris Bowl’s Club.

OUR PANELIST, Professor Philip Goad.

Philip is Chair of Architecture and Redmond Barry Distinguished Professor at the University of Melbourne.

A recognised authority on Australian architecture, he is the co-editor of ‘The Encyclopedia of Australian Architecture’ (Cambridge University Press, 2012). His most recent book, written with Geoffrey London and Conrad Hamann, is ‘An Unfinished Experiment in Living: Australian Houses 1950-65. (UWA Press, 2017).

He grew up in Beaumaris in the 1960s, where his family lived in a modernist project home, complete with a fully glazed Stegbar window wall, rockery and above-ground Clark pool amongst the tea trees.
